in fact, >in a hole<, the a-side of their latest 12 inch, is even more dream-steeped than its predecessors. relying on vintage (and in some cases, home made) gear, simon and tsai have constructed a song that is syrupy in pace. darkened tones mingle with floating percussion and vocals processed to nearly melancholic depths. >cant feel my knees< picks up the tempo, and feels slightly sunnier in comparison (>perhaps a result of practicing for the first time in a place with windows<, according to simon), with rippling keys that give way to an open, spacious sigh and an almost playful interlude of warmth and bass punctuations. the two have said theyre interested in the meeting point of house and noise, and thats particularly apparent on the two remixes that appear here. >in a hole dub< is slower, more bare-boned and ghostlier than the track from which its derived, while >cant feel my knees dub< is filled with white noise emissions and hissing electro shocks.

>i didnt really hit you. i just highfived your face< thats the slogan of oliver schories. influenced by many different styles, the young hamburg-based producer found his home on labels like ostwind rec, parquet rec or style rockets in 2010. his new ep for rennbahn rec. is typical for his own style. outtake is riddled with many deep elements and a warm mood, on the other hand bremen vs. hamburg is a driving techno track. emotional and energetic is the best description for this one. andreas henneberg, well known as a part of the duo the glitz throw in a remix of outtake, which is definitely the one for the dancefloor. he captured the essential elements and arranged them with his own flavour.

taragana pyjarama is 21 year old nick eriksen from denmark, >taragana pyjarama< is his debut release on french house label fool house, following the self imposed death of previous project elm ick, which went onto release on john talabots hivern label (barcelona). the release features three original tracks, ‘,sundanese blonde’,, ‘,ocean’, and ‘,girls’, the breakout track that had the mp3 blog dance community in raptures at the tail of of summer ‘,10. eriksen may feel at home creating deep new house productions but it’,s natural attraction towards the journey in his productions that resonate most, no less so in ‘,sundanese blonde’, perhaps the stand out track on the ep and the sole track to feature a vocal. ricardo tobar provides a pulsating take on ‘,girls’,. as for the definition of taragana pyjarama? we’,re still not sure.
